Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by DPC Wall Doctor (“we”, “us”, “our”) and your use of our website. By requesting a quote, booking work or using our site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed.

2. Our Services

We specialise in the following works, all carried out to industry standards, Building Regulations and British Standards:

  • Damp Proof Course (DPC) installation, replacement and repair
  • Rising damp treatment, condensation control and ventilation solutions
  • Wall coating, re-plastering, rendering and general wall repairs
  • Timber preservation, wet rot and dry rot treatment
  • Mould removal and long-term prevention
  • All types of roofing work: repairs, re-roofing, new roof installations, leak fixing, tile replacement, guttering and flashing works
  • General property repairs and maintenance works

3. Quotes & Contracts

  • All written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  • A legally binding contract is formed only when you accept our quote and we confirm your booking date.
  • Quotes are based on visible conditions and information you provide. If unexpected hidden defects are found during work, we will explain and agree any extra costs before carrying out extra work.
  • Site surveys and written reports are chargeable unless agreed otherwise; fees are deducted from works cost if you proceed.

4. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are clear, transparent, and include VAT where applicable. No hidden costs.
  • Payment schedule: 25% deposit on booking, balance due on satisfactory completion of works.
  • Accepted payment methods: Bank transfer, debit card, credit card, cash. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHEQUES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
  • We do NOT charge interest on any payments, late or otherwise.

5. Work Standards & Guarantees

All materials are high-quality, approved products. All work is carried out by trained, experienced operatives.

  • Damp Proofing / DPC works: 20 YEAR INSURANCE-BACKED GUARANTEE
  • All Roofing works (incl. new roofs): 10 YEAR INSURANCE-BACKED GUARANTEE
  • All Repairs, Plastering & Finishing works: 5 YEAR INSURANCE-BACKED GUARANTEE

ALL GUARANTEES ARE FULLY TRANSFERABLE to any new owner if you sell or transfer the property during the guarantee period.

CERTIFICATE RULE: Your official guarantee certificate will be issued ONLY ONCE FULL FINAL PAYMENT for all completed works has been received and cleared. The certificate is issued strictly in the name of the person who booked the work and made payment.

IMPORTANT CONDITION FOR NEW ROOFING: The guarantee for any new roof installed by DPC Wall Doctor will be VOID AND INVALID if any repairs, alterations, maintenance, or further work of any kind is carried out on the roof by any person or company other than DPC Wall Doctor.

Guarantees cover materials and labour for defects or failures caused directly by our workmanship or products. Guarantees DO NOT cover: accidental damage, leaks from unrelated sources, poor drainage, building defects not connected to our work, lack of ventilation, poor maintenance, or changes made to the property after our work is finished.

6. Customer Obligations

  • Provide safe, clear access and inform us of any hazards or underground utilities before work starts.
  • Ensure all information you give us is accurate — we are not liable for errors from incorrect details.
  • Allow reasonable time and access as agreed.

7. Liability & Responsibility

We take all reasonable care, but cannot be liable for hidden defects, minor unavoidable cosmetic marks during work, or issues caused by work done by others. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, as required by UK law.

8. Cancellation & Consumer Rights

Domestic customers have 14 days right to cancel from booking confirmation (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Faulty work will be rectified free of charge or a refund given, in line with Consumer Rights Act 2015. We may pause or cancel works if unsafe conditions, access refusal or non-payment occurs.

9. Intellectual Property & Governing Law

All reports, designs, photos and website content belong to DPC Wall Doctor — no copying without written permission. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
